Document certification

Any documents requiring certification, must be certified by an authorised person and in the manner outlined below.

The copies must have a written statement confirming:
“Certified as a true copy of the original and bears a true likeness of the applicant” and be signed and dated or stamped.

Only persons who have actually seen the original evidence can certify copies of that evidence. We must be able to contact the person certifying the evidence, if necessary, therefore a contact name and number will be required and have their company stamp. 

Certification can be done by any of the following:

  • Authorised financial intermediary
  • Embassy, Consulate or High Commission
  • UK lawyer
  • Banker
  • Accountant
  • Teacher
  • Doctor
  • Minister of religion
  • Post Office

For clients who have met with their Financial Adviser original documents can be certified by the adviser.
